Although lap band surgery is minimally invasive and less risky procedure but there are lap band surgery risks also which may disturb you. Some of the lap band risk s are---
- Pulmonary embolism that is development of blood clots in lungs.
- Surgery infection in the stomach or lungs or on the site of port.
- Sometimes bleeding.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
- Due to prescribed medication or anesthesia bad reaction.
- Risk of leakage or puncturing or breakage of port.
- There would be deficiency of glucose.
- Rejection of band by body.
- No weight loss means failure of band
- Other risks are vomiting, nausea, stoma obstruction, slippage etc.
