Success rate after few years are but with less than 50% weight loss. Nowadays each year late complications are added with 3 to 4%.

What are the reasons for lap band surgery failure and how to avoid this -

  • First properly know about lap band surgery. Whether you are eligible for this or not. You body condition is in situation to have surgery or not. If you are not eligible don't go for this otherwise.
  • Properly follow pre-op band diet and post op lap band diet.
  • Choose the experienced lap band surgeon. Don't choose inexperienced to save money. Look over the quality of band used in the operation. Choose low pressure band to avoid erosion.
  • It is advised to keep distance form alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea.
  • Don't choose food in your diet which is strictly prohibited which becomes the reason for late complications.
  • Know about symptoms of basic complications, so that you can treat it at right time like nausea, vomiting, reflux, stoma obstruction etc. These can be treated.
  • Go for lap band fill at right time.

Lap band success rate is not 100%. It needs your full commitments to make it successful. You need to change your lifestyle according to your weight loss goal.
