Answer 1 Probably it is one of the complication, and is commonly found in all lap band patient differently, known as acid reflux. It is also called as GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). As you know food passes by the stomach when swallowed, sometimes during this process stomach acid rises up in the stomach. The acid irritates oesophagus lining which then causes heartburn and pain in chest and all over rib etc. this is usually accompanied by difficulty in swallowing and sore throat. You may consult your doctor, if this does not get sorted within sometime.

I don\'t know how long ago you posted this, but I\'m having the exact same thing and have been trying to get answers. I\'m 7 months out and my side stitches kill me!
