Allergic reaction though not common can occur with lap band patients. It is because lap band is made up of silicon and titanium products, for their elastic and supportive properties. Allergy with these products is not usually found but it always differs with persons. Basically this is tested before operation itself, if not done can be take the life of patient in danger and emergency surgery is done to prevent reaction.

However when it happens minor irritating sensations, itchiness in skin, rashes or reddening of the skin may take place on implant’s external area. So, doctor advice is must on manifesting such problems, otherwise it may take more complex form hives, edema, dizziness, fainting, lip & throat swelling, breathing problem, asthmatic symptoms etc.
