My future daughter in law has lost quite a bit of weight (maybe 300 lbs) with lapband surgery. Her side effects are still throwing up, gas, etc which I understand. Is there a resource for my son to understand her emotional state as being witnessed as crabby beyond normal. I have heard that toxins get dumped into a person\'s system and it can cause this. I want to give my son the tools to understand. Is there a website?
Answer 1
Lap patient may experience gas, flatulence after surgery due to eating too much carbohydrate and fatty foods. Patient should avoid such type of food for few weeks following surgery. As you lose weight, excess fat dissolves and toxins trapped inside the fat cells are released into the bloodstream and circulated throughout your body causing headache, pain, moodiness, dizziness, stress and other symptoms. This is however common phenomenon associated with the surgery. Your daughter-in-law will recover from this condition soon. But after few months, things get normal. Your son should understand her physical and emotional state and should give her some time to recover.
