My friend had the lap band procedure nearly one year ago... recently she has started having to go to the bathroom more frequently... she can only travel about 20 minutes at a time in a car... could this be a side effect of lap band?
Answer 1 Normally frequent urination problem does not arises after Lap band surgery. In some cases it happen due to anesthesia but for very short duration. As you had said that you are facing frequent urination problem after one year so it indicates that there is some other problem. After lap band surgery, your doctor will definitely advised you to:
Drink enough fluid
Drink only low calorie liquid
Avoid drinking water while eating
So these are few restriction which I think you had definitely followed. If the problem is not from surgery time then it indicates some other problem and I will advise you to consult your doctor immediately. Without getting complete information, it is quite difficult to suggest any solution.
