Will I follow post-operative diet and for how long ?
For getting best result you have to follow post-operative diet chart. To not stretch the small stomach pouch above the band you have to follow the post-operative diet chart. Because when you take excess amount of food vomiting may cause and this can increase the change of stomach tissue slipping up through the band. You have to follow liquid diet for some week at lest for 1-2 week then pureed food for 3-4 week, soft food after 5 week and then after solid food in small amount which will not create any problem in stomach. Means for at least 6 week you have to follow post-operative diet. You should eat three meals in a day.
